(More customer reviews)I have been carrying mini-flat irons for awhile now, but always have needed a plug in to use it. I was not sure if a cordless flat iron existed, and figured if it did that it would be a weak heat - until I found the Hot Tools Helix Cordless.

This item came in a decent quality carry bag, a bit too feminine for me. Inside was the flat iron which was about half the size of a normal flat iron, and it was a high quality build, nothing felt like it would fall apart. The buttons are in the right spot. It has an on-off button of course. Then it has three heat settings, low medium and high. The high gets hotter than my corded flat iron! It heats up just as quick as my corded flat iron.

The plates on the iron are coated, and high quality. It slips across my hair without tug, which is important since I have brittle hair from medication. Also in the bag are two batteries, which is important so you have one to use and a spare charging. The main charger is nifty. It has a spot to charge the battery attached to the flat iron, and it has another spot to charge the secondary battery! The set also comes with a car charger to charge the flat iron on travel, but it does not also charge the secondary battery, but that is expected.

I am very satisfied with this item, and would defiently recommend it to anyone else that even just wants to use this flat iron day to day in the bathroom without taking it along with you. The battery has lasted through several high temp uses in a day, and have not had to use the spare battery yet.

My only thought that would improve the flat iron, as stated in another review, is that the opening of the flat iron for the hair is not as wide as other flat irons. But it is not small by any means either. The other part of this is that the iron could have a little more spring action when you clamp the iron down on the hair and release. Usually a flat iron pops back open pretty briskly, this one pops open but with a little less oomph, which does not really take away from the flat iron, but just means you have to move a little slower perhaps. Otherwise, this was just what I needed.
